Key West, FL
In April of 2021,
I took a trip to the island of Key West. A place that I have fantasized about since I was young, for this is my mom’s meaning of paradise.
what I found was a place filled with incredible history and some of the nicest people I have ever met. An urban playground where everything was beautiful, even the most banal.
I offer these photos as a glimpse of my view of Key West.
The Red Garter is a strip club. And no, I did not go in.
All my street/people photography was taken at a daily ceremony called the ‘Sunset Festival’ where residents and tourists gather to celebrate the setting of the sun.
This musician in the background played the same songs both nights I went there. It gave the event a ritualistic feeling to it, which made me appreciate it so much more.
Pair of shoes left on Duval. Were they leaving them there or coming back for them? who knows.
